We were approached by Des Mcilroy initially in the summer of 2011 as he had recently purchased a Victorian detached property which had previously been the home of the Ainsdale Conservative Club. His aim was to convert this large old building into a contemporary Bistro with a high level of fixture, fit and finish throughout.

He therefore needed to create a balance between front-of-house bar and restaurant using the well proportioned spaces available optimised for customers, whilst equally ensuring that his kitchen was fully kitted and capable of dealing with the anticipated footfall from the expectant and burgeoning local gastronomic community.

We met with Des at the premises and he talked us through the task that he faced. The upstairs was to be converted into living quarters and would be his family home, this, along with the need to satisfy planning, brought with it a need to consider noise and smells presenting us with a challenge relating to extraction and ducting in the kitchen.

Having discussed this along with menu and front of house theme, we provided Des with our proposed solution and costings.

Almost twelve months after the proposal and with a lot of his building and interior work resolved, Des contacted us again and we were awarded the commercial kitchen fit-out job. We met with the new chef and made adjustments based on his input and subsequently installed the complete kitchen, including the food pass within the required timescales and on budget.

The final outcome complimented the interior d�cor perfectly and with time, effort & professionalism from all involved the old Ainsdale Conservative Club was transformed into a stunning bar & restaurant which opened in October 2012.
